So I woke up this morning with this song in my head, totally out of the blue, and it made me smile. I felt inspired to share it, so I quickly found this beautiful photo slide show with lyrics. There are some typos in the lines, but if you listen and watch, you”ll still catch the idea. Many out there closer to my age may know the words by heart.
James Taylor was my late high school and early college favorite folk-rock artist. He, Cat Stevens, and Jim Croce were the creators of my go-to music for a while. I have some peaceful memories of completing college art class projects in my dorm while listening to these sorts of twentieth-century troubadours. I am such a fan of poetic lyrics and stringed instruments.
I mention one of James Taylor’s songs in one of my books. I believe God used it one day to break into my soul and stop me from sinking into a dangerous place. God will use who and what is there wherever we are to speak to each one of our hearts, and I am so grateful. His creative interventions propel me to keep my eyes open.
I hope this post lifts someone’s day or inspires someone to give a loved one a big hug.
Enjoy…
