One day I realized that although I seemed to have a lot of faith for others finding resolution and success, I was approaching some personal situations and relationships with a lot less faith than was rational, in light of the goodness and power of God. It was time to trade in my lack of hope for confident expectation of breakthrough. I closed my eyes and visualized myself leaning my ear against God’s heart and asking Him to speak to me. This is what I sensed him saying:
You can be free of any hopelessness over what is lost, strained, broken, dead, and hidden. Remember to always ask for insight about my creative strategies, and follow my directions, even if it means you are to rest and wait. My plans are always about redeeming, reconciling, restoring, resurrecting, and revealing what is good. Don’t focus on your flaws, or repeatedly recall your mistakes or the hurtful actions of others. Let them be covered with my love and forgiveness. Partner with what I am seeing, thinking and doing. Receive my patience and peace. Trust and watch me bring life to your heart, mind, body, relationships, circumstances, and each person that you and I encounter together today.
“…for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Philippians 2:13 (NKJV)
Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner.” John 5:19 (NKJV)
So Lord, what are You doing today? 😊
